Jacob Ausherman

JACOB loves soccer! He played in college, watches Chelsea FC games, coaches at Nelsen MS, and plays whenever he has free time. Born in a small village in Russia, known for throat-singing, Jacob’s humble beginning eventually led him to the non-profit world. A recent graduate of the University of Washington School of Social Work, Jacob joins CISR with 10 years of experience working with youth and families from D.C. to Costa Rica to Mexico to Seattle. Although he is new to Communities In Schools, Jacob has been working in schools previously. Most recently, he was the Restorative Justice coordinator for WA-BLOC (Washington-Building Leaders of Change) Freedom Schools and a school social worker at Rainier Beach HS. Outside of work and soccer, Jacob enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and dog. His favorite book of all-time is Outcasts United, he recommends everyone reads it.
