The AmeriCorps Site Coordinator wills serve in elementary schools in the Renton School District. With CIS Site Coordinators, members will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the CIS model of integrated student supports in designated school sites. The member will coordinate with community partners and volunteers to marshal resources necessary to address the social and emotional needs of students who are at risk of dropping out of school. Through the coordination of individual and group interventions as well as prevention activities the member is a key player in helping students toward graduation.
This position is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the Communities In Schools model of integrated student supports, in strong collaboration and partnership with school staff at a secondary school in the Renton School District. This school based position identifies and coordinates community resources and partnerships to address the identified needs of students at-risk of dropping out through confidential, developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive interventions, services and supports. CISR identifies and serves students exhibiting early warning indicators and risk factors that may lead to academic failure and/or dropout. This position will provide wrap around services to meet the needs of students and families and support the student’s academic success. This position is 40 hours a week, working a 200-day school year.
